Webmart's Managing Director, Simon Biltcliffe, was recently voted the Institute of Director's (IoD) Director of the Year in the small and medium (SME) category. He was also runner up for the IoD Overall Director of the Year.
Having been awarded Director of the Year for the Iod South region earlier this year and shortlisted for the finals along with several other regional winners, judges based their decision on who they best felt demonstrated excellence in several areas; financial performance and business growth, employee engagement, innovation and product development, reputation management, education and training and ethical behaviour and community engagement. The trophy was awarded to Simon at the Final Awards Ceremony in London hosted by Michael Portillo.
Simon commented, "The Webmart business is based upon Marxist Capitalism whereby both customers and suppliers gain as a result of our trading activity and profits are subsequently shared across Webmart's employees".
He continued, "Webmart is proud to be a creative business. We don't follow conventional wisdom for the sake of it and this sometimes enables us to achieve the unexpected for both our customers and suppliers. The fact that we're self-funded gives us this freedom. Our creativity and highly collaborative approach with customers and suppliers is fuelling our growth in new areas in an omni-media world connected by integrated communications and tribal relationships".
