Print Management firm Webmart Ltd. has been awarded the prestigious Green Apple Award in this year's awards for Environmental Best Practise at the House of Commons.

To win the award, Webmart had to prove they are committed to environmental best-practise throughout the business. They did this through lowering energy-consumption and emissions across the business and providing as many environmental products and services as possible. This included office refurbishment, offsetting carbon from business activities through the World Land Trust and meeting tight accreditation standards from ISO14001, FSC, PEFC and BSI PAS75. It also included offering a wide range of environmentally-sustainable services and print options to Webmart customers.
Managing Director Simon Biltcliffe:
"In these times where print comes under a lot of flak for being less environmentally-sustainable than other forms of communications, it's great that we've been awarded such a coveted and difficult-to-achieve award. We strive to be as environmentally-friendly as humanly possible; from the carbon footprinting of our print to the solar panels on our roof. Webmart continues to invest heavily in the business we run and the products and services we offer to our customers. I'm hugely chuffed that the efforts of all our team has been recognised with such a great award."
And going on to discuss the award's place within the printing industry more generally, he states:
'The printing industry has taken huge and transparent steps over the last few years to become sustainable and carbon neutral. That's substantially more than many other industries and communications - including online - where the carbon cost is hidden. Hopefully awards like the Green Apple will help educate customers on the sustainability of print and benefit the wider printing industry too.'
