Print management company WEBMART is strengthening its customer services in the north of England by opening an office in the new state-of-the-art Digital Media Centre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The company will occupy 1,000 square feet on the second floor of the building, which has been designed specifically for creative, media and digital businesses.

Its third office in the UK, WEBMART's new premises will house sales, production and commercial teams, replicating the services provided at its head office in Bicester. Darren Cummings, currently based at Bicester, will head up the new office and have responsibility for developing the team. Initially, he will be joined by Richard Whyte and Niel Owen, both formerly at Polestar, who will be responsible for the production and commercial teams respectively. Darren Cummings says: "This is a very exciting step for WEBMART as we continue to establish the business across Europe. With the strength of the print industry in Yorkshire, Barnsley is an ideal location to service our northern accounts, and as a low-cost fair-trade print manager, we will also be able to provide a free sales resource for our suppliers."

He continues: "We are delighted to be among the first residents of the Digital Media Centre. This highly prestigious development will ensure that we are in the right place to grow our business, alongside like-minded organisations."

The Digital Media Centre has been a flagship project for Barnsley, supported by Renaissance South Yorkshire, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Yorkshire Forward. It is part of South Yorkshire's strategy to develop its creative and digital sector, which employs over 25,000 and has an aggregate turnover of £1 bn.
