Papers for Printing: Most Popular Paper Weights for 6 Printed Products.

If you’re a designer or marketer who’s a little unfamiliar with specifying for print, here’s a quick guide to some of the most popular paper weights used for a range of different product types.

Note that we’re displaying a range of the most popular weights of paper here – there are many creative treatments that will make good use of both lighter or heavier stocks. So, if you’d like to understand some more options or find it useful to chat through your thoughts with someone who understands print inside-out, we have a team of creative print consultants who are here to advise and help.

The data below also breaks the specification down into cover paper weight (the cover of the item) and the text paper weight (the paper between the covers) where the two are different.

Note also that the units of measurement are gsm (grammes per square Metre) used by most of the metric world.

Hope it helps with whatever projects you’re working on!
