Supporting Plunkett UK’s 2025 Impact Report

PlunkettUK has released their first ever Impact Report. Webmart support this through charitable donations.

At Webmart, we believe business should be a force for good. and our partnership with Plunkett UK is a brilliant example of that in action.

As the only organisation dedicated to supporting rural community-owned businesses across the UK, Plunkett is transforming lives and local economies by helping communities take control of their local assets – shops, pubs, cafés, and more.

We’re proud to support their mission, and even prouder to share their Impact Report 2025, which shines a light on the huge difference community businesses are making nationwide.

Here’s what our support helped make possible in 2024:

  • 302 community groups received expert advice on community ownership.
  • 30 new community businesses opened their doors – bringing the UK total to over 800.
  • They’re thriving too: community businesses supported by Plunkett boast a five-year survival rate of 99%, compared to the SME average of just 39%.

These are more than businesses. They’re lifelines. Places that anchor communities and deliver real social value.

What Plunkett Says

Not only do community businesses deliver on protecting vital rural services, but they continue to place social value at the heart of what they do. It’s a simple act such as placing a chair near a till for a spontaneous cup of coffee and chat that demonstrates their commitment to being welcoming and inclusive places for all, especially to those in need of a sense of connection and belonging.

This is what sustainable impact looks like. Community businesses aren’t just surviving, they’re revitalising rural spaces, protecting essential services, and building connections that matter.
