Charitable Giving

Webmart’s Community and Charitable Cash Pot

Charitable giving is one of our cornerstone motivations. We’re a fortunate bunch in all kinds of ways, so there’s no better goal than helping those less fortunate by supporting registered charities.

We do this through our Community and Charitable Cash Pot (CCCP). Contributions are based on interest earned from cash in the bank and distributed to our partner charities throughout the year.

So far we’ve donated

£1,073,670 to charitable causes

Our Community and Charitable Cash Pot

Our Webmarteers like to take our charitable initiatives to another level. That’s why we have a dedicated Charity Committee set up to organise how and where we allocate our Community and Charitable Cash Pot (CCCP).

Our charity pot is refilled each financial year and takes all our unearned income (such as interest earned or rent from office spaces) for that year and donates it to registered charities.

Last year, we gave donations to 49 different organisations, forming strong partnerships with Plunkett UK, Barnsley Food Bank, Oxfordshire Wildlife Hospital Appeal, and Berwickshire Marine Reserve. In the last year we’ve welcomed several new members to our charity committee, along with a new chairperson, Charlotte Jenkins. Ongoing, we’re looking to target more community-based charities.

What our team say

I was delighted to become chair of the charity committee, bringing my previous humanitarian experience into driving more strategic, meaningful and impactful change with our charity funding. My focus is on moving beyond ad-hoc giving to create sustainable partnerships that deliver measurable outcomes.

Supporting Community Businesses

This year, we chose the Plunkett Foundation as our lead charity. If you’re not aware of Plunkett, they’re an organisation established to support community-owned businesses in rural locations across the UK and because they’re focused on people, community, the economy and environment, we’re a fantastic fit.

We had the honour of sponsoring their 2024 National Community Business Conference – a wonderful day filled with inspiration, workshops, and a whole lot of community spirit.

Local initiatives

We love to support all sorts of charities and organisations, especially those dedicated to making a difference to our local communities. We provide free use of Webmart company facilities for community events, this year we were delighted to host the Responsible Oxford Business Involvement Network and the B Local B Corp network.

Volunteer Days

We have several Webmart-sponsored charitable giving opportunities like a volunteering day at a charity of their choice, combined with a £250 donation to the same charity.

What our communities say

From the moment we started working with Webmart, their approach has always been to do the very best for Plunkett; to ensure they’re offering the most productive and effective partnership they can. We feel extremely grateful to have had received their generosity of spirit over the last year.

Charity Christmas Game

Webmart's infamous charity Christmas game

Every year, we challenge the bravest and the brightest to complete our Charity Christmas game and top our coveted leader board. The top 5 highest scores each receive £1,000 for a registered charity of their choice.

Come back on 1st December for your chance to make a huge difference to your chosen charity, and for the kudos of coming out on top!
