Overview
evyve is an award-winning UK EV charging network, helping drivers power journeys across a growing national infrastructure. As they enter their next phase of growth, they partnered with Webmart to help accelerate adoption of newly launched charging hubs.
Alongside our always-on visibility activity, we developed a repeatable launch approach designed to get new hubs discovered, trusted and used faster.
The result? 5x more charging sessions in just 6 weeks – and an approach that’s now used across future hub launches.
The challenge
evyve is rolling out its network, and fast. New hubs come online almost every week, and each one is a serious piece of infrastructure investment. Because of that, every day a site sits quiet is a day that investment is not working as hard as it should.
This is a challenge at the heart of their rollout. When a hub first goes live, local drivers simply do not know it is there. There are no reviews, no map prominence and no word of mouth. People stick with the networks and locations they already trust, so a brand new site can stay more or less invisible to the drivers around it for weeks after it opens.
evyve needed new hubs to be seen, both physically and online, much sooner after launch, and it needed an approach that would work the same way every time a site came live.
Before we started work, a new hub took roughly two to three months to reach baseline, with baseline meaning two to three charging sessions per charger per day. And although this baseline was on a par with much of evyve’s competition, there was a real ambition to improve that gap.

what evyve wanted
1.To get new hubs visible quickly, so drivers find and use them sooner.
2.To shorten the two-to-three month run-up to baseline.
3.To build a launch approach that could be repeated reliably for every new site, not rebuilt each time.
4.To join up the online and offline activity so drivers got one consistent message from first awareness through to plugging in.
The brief was a test and learn one: use the new hub launches to see what genuinely moves the dial on time to baseline, then turn what works into a standard playbook.

The Solution
We built a launch model around one idea: catch the driver wherever they are, with the same clear, benefit-led message at every point between their journey and the charging bay.
It ran across both digital and physical channels on purpose, so the awareness built online was backed up in the real world right where the decision gets made.
oNLINE
1.Google Ads: launch search and Performance Max activity tightly geo-targeted around each new hub, with “Now Open” creative, location-specific headlines and a clear “find your nearest charger” prompt to bring in high-intent traffic.
2.Meta: paid social building local awareness and pushing app use, with messaging focused on tap and go, faster charging and the cheaper rates the app unlocks.
3.Organic social: real-world launch posts placing each hub in its local setting (“now live, just off the M60”) to add credibility and reach.
4.Map listings: creating new Google Business Profile, Apple Maps and Bing Maps listings for the site, with site specific questions and answers and on-site amenities.
oFFLINE
1.Digital billboards: high-impact roadside creative (“Time to recharge? Ultra-rapid EV charging 1.5 miles ahead”) catching drivers close to the new hub.
2.Lamp post banners and bollards: local signage right around the site, turning passing awareness into an actual visit.
The organic and reputation work behind it
Alongside every launch, we kept an always-on programme running to make evyve easier to find and more trusted locally: Google Business Profile and review work, community management across social, EV forums, Quora and Reddit, and ongoing forum and Q&A activity to catch long-tail searches and feed branded demand. Because this work was already in place, each new hub launched off the back of an established brand rather than starting from nothing.
how it fitted together
The sequence was deliberate. Organic and paid awareness introduced the hub, a paid display ad filled in the detail (“8 ultra-rapid bays, 99% uptime”), a roadside billboard caught the driver nearby, and on-site banners and bollards turned that into a charge. Every step carried the same brand, the same accurate detail, and the same simple promise: make every journey easier.
the results
The results were impressive. Within just 6 weeks, we had overshot baseline by 5 times.
The model did what it was meant to: it got new hubs busy sooner, and it strengthened evyve’s visibility across organic and local search at the same time.
5x baseline no. of users
Five times the number of charges were recorded in half the previous time.
Where this leaves evyve
Beyond the numbers, evyve now has a launch approach it can rely on. A new hub is no longer an open question about how long it will take to get going; it goes into a set programme designed to get it busy quickly and protect the return on the investment from the start. The test and learn brief has been answered and turned into how evyve launches sites as standard.
Why it worked
1. Channels worked together, not in isolation: paid, organic, community and physical activity backed each other up, so awareness built in one place was reinforced where the driver actually decides.
2. The brand was already established: steady reputation and community work meant each hub launched into an audience that already knew evyve, rather than from scratch.
3. It was built to repeat: templated creative, swappable location copy and a set launch sequence turned a one-off campaign into something that could be run on every new site.
